Your Car’s Heating & AC is Top Priority to Us.

Your air conditioning and heating systems are two of the most important parts of your automobile.  Technology in today’s new vehicles have to ability to make everyone in the vehicle comfortable in all temperatures.  Some will even provide the driver and passengers separate zones to customize their preferred temperatures.

How to tell if your heating and A/C are having issues:

  • Your A/C blows only somewhat cooler compared to the outside air
  • Your system blows air that smells moist, musty, or moldy
  • Your cabin does not heat up in cold weather or is only slightly warmer than outside
  • The defroster takes longer compared to normal to function, blows in unclean air, or doesn’t operate at all
  • Your heater or A/C only operates when driving, not when idling or at stops
  • Your heater blows cold air, or the air conditioning blows warm
  • Even at the highest setting, your vents produce a weak flow of air

How can regular maintenance help?

Something as simple as just running the AC at least once a week will help keep the compressor lubricated and running properly.  Running the defrost will help dry out any moisture in the system preventing any mildew or other unpleasant odors.  Ask about having your HVAC system deodorized.

Replace your cabin air filter!  At Melvin’s we will remove and inspect your filter with every oil change and clean it off or give you options for replacement if needed.  Eventually the small pores will be so clogged that it will, cause a restriction of airflow and will cause extra stress on your system.
